CDPro2 Transport encosure design – part 3

I’ve made few renders to compare French elegance with rounded edges vs. German strictness with sharp edges.

– decreased size of spikes
– design of rounded edges
– isolation platform size is reduced 10 mm on each side

– I decreased tripod to size of enclosure, but it absolutely lost its original . Size of tripod will be left as it is, maybe size of enclosure will increase 5 mm on each side.

Further reduction of tripod (now quad-pod) and platform

Stand from Ebay auction.

24 pin circular plug instead of 2x Neutrik 8pin plug used.

Intention was to make CD transport with 70’s design in mind. Sharp edges, functional design. I was experimenting with others shapes, but this really looks the best, also easy to make in garage.

– Version with rounded edges might seem to be more elegant, but entire design would loose originality. It would look like some kind of CD player from Marantz, Teac or Esoteric.

NEVER be afraid to TRY…… remember …. AMATEURS built the ARC … PROFESSIONALS built the TITANIC…!
…hope mine won’t sink 🙂

  1. This style is steller! You undoubtedly know how to maintain a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own weblog (properly, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job. I actually enjoyed what you had to say, and a lot more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
