Sean de Burca – Stormchaser

Sean de Burca - Stormchaser

Self-taught solo guitarist, Sean de Burca, has been playing the guitar for less than five years, but nevertheless his third solo record, Six String Gun, released in July 2012, immediately hit the shelves of HMV, as well as various other stores across the United Kingdom and America. During the week of August 13th 2012, Six String Gun outsold Lana Del Ray, Florence and the Machine, Maroon 5 and Drake in the weekly sales in the Tunbridge Wells HMV store.

May 2013 saw the release of Stormchaser – Sean’s fourth CD. Within 10 days of the release date, over 100 copies of Stormchaser had been bought by eager fans and many downloads across iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and many more.

Stormchaser is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp, Big Cartel and many more download platforms.

Throughout 2013, Sean will be performing at The Great Escape Festival, Tribal Earth, Fusion (headlined by Toploader), Gazastock, Unfest, Tentertainment, Tonbridge Arts Festival, QuietRiot, Oxjam and many more, having already performed for TKMaxx at their Comic Relief fundraiser and various support slots for Virgin Soldiers.

Sean’s music is of an instrumental style, mixed with guitar-body percussion, tapping techniques and altered guitar tunings to form upbeat and groove-driven songs. Popular guitarists Preston Reed, Antoine Dufour, Jimmy Wahlsteen, Ewan Dobson, Craig D’Andrea and Adam Palma have enjoyed listening to Sean’s solo records and some have remarked that Sean’s music sounds like two or even three guitarists (and percussionists) playing at the same time. Sean’s unique style makes it hard to believe that everything you hear is coming from just one instrument and one musician.
